Today’s article ‘Old friends: on India-Iran bilateral ties‘ has been picked from ‘The Hindu’

 This article discuss about  recent visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to India.In this visit , President of Iran and Narendra Modi signed agreements and memorandums of understanding on a wide variety of issues.The article says that the visit of Hassan Rouhani was quite good and India must maintain a steady course on its strategic interests with Iran.

Meaning – 
send (someone) back to their own country/send (money) back to one’s own country.

Antonyms –
Example – 
Because the traveler did not have all of his proper documents, the customs officer had no choice but to repatriate him back to his home country.

4)Implication (noun) –  ( निहितार्थ ,तात्पर्य, आशय):   impli-ca-shuns
Meaning – 
an idea or belief that is suggested from something else
Synonyms – ramification, repercussion,indiction,guess
Antonyms –
Example – 
Riya’s hiding of her report card gave her mother the implication she had failed at least one of her tests.

5)Substantive (adjective)  (मूल,अर्थपूर्ण):   subs-tan-tive
Meaning – 
associated with issues of key importance/having a firm basis in reality and so important, meaningful, or considerable.
Synonyms –  important ,meaningful, considerable, significant
-inconsequential, inconsiderable, insignificant, insubstantial, negligible, nominal
Example –
At next week’s meeting, the city council will vote on a substantive issue affecting the entire town.

6)Red carpet (noun)   (स्वागत):   read-car-pet
Meaning – 
used in reference to privileged treatment of a distinguished visitor/ a greeting or reception marked by ceremonial courtesy
Synonyms – greeting, welcoming, warm reception,cordial
Antonyms –
Example –
he group gets red-carpet treatment in most places”

7)Slash (verb)   (कम करना,छोटा करना):   slash
Meaning –
to reduce or cut  something
Synonyms – 
reduce, cut, lower 
Antonyms –
raise, put up, create
Example –
In the winter sale,the company has slashed prices by up to 50%.
