Today’s article ‘The 140-year-old-conflict’ has been picked from ‘Down to Earth’

This article sheds light on the Cauvery conflict & water-sharing agreements between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.The article says that the water wars of the increasingly deteriorating Cauvery basin will increase if emotions and ego clashes over the ownership of the river continue to dominate the discussions.

8) Overthrow (verb)  (पराभव) : over-throw
Meaning – a removal of a figure or establishment from power

Synonyms – remove, oust, dethrone (from power).
Antonyms – success, victory , establish
Example -In order to overthrow someone in a position of authority, you will need enough power or support to remove them from power.
