All about new ₹10 note by RBI!

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released a press release for the introduction of new ₹10 notes a few days back. Today, we are going to share all the important details of the new 10-rupee denomination to be introduced by RBI, which will help you score better in the General Awareness section of your upcoming Bank and Insurance exams.

Complete Details of new ₹10 note introduced by RBI

Here are some of the salient features of the ₹10 denomination, which will be issued by RBI shortly.

  • The ₹10 denomination of the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series will bear the signature of RBI Governor, Dr. Urjit Patel.
  • The new note will have the motif of Konark Sun Temple on the reverse, which aims to depict the cultural heritage of the country.
  • Many other designs, geometric patterns are also present on the note both at the obverse and reverse, in alignment with the overall color scheme.
  • The base colour of the new notes is Chocolate Brown.
  • The earlier series of ₹10 denomination issued by RBI will continue to be a legal tender.
  • The dimension of the new note will be ‘63 mm x 123 mm’.

Key features of the new ₹10 note:

Obverse (Front)

  • See through register with denominational numeral 10.
  • Micro letters ‘RBI’, ‘भारत ‘, ‘INDIA’ and ’10’
  • Denominational numeral १० in Devnagari
  • Guarantee Clause, Governor’s signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards the right of Mahatma Gandhi portrait
  • Ashoka Pillar emblem on the right
  • Mahatma Gandhi portrait and electrotype (10) watermarks
  • Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at the centre
  • Windowed demetalized security thread with inscriptions ‘भारत’ and RBI
  • Number panel with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and bottom right side

Reverse (Back)

  • Swachh Bharat logo with slogan
  • Motif of Sun Temple, Konark
  • Year of printing of the note on the left
  • Language panel
  • Denominational numeral १० in Devnagari
